Bathroom renovations are very popular but before you rush in and put your toilet and shower out of use, you need to have a plan of how you are going to survive without them. If you are luck to own more than one bathroom then you have no problem, but most people only have one bathroom in the house. Toilets and showers are a must in a house and if you are renovating your only bathroom you need to make arrangements on how you are going to manage during the period of the work.
The most important thing to do is talk with your contractors so that you are all on the same page. You need to find out how long the project will take and for how long important amenities will be out of action. You need to explain to the contractors that you don’t have access to another bathroom in the house and if they can accommodate you if possible. Depending on the type of work being done, most contractors will come up with creative workarounds that only require your toilet or shower to be unavailable for a day or two.
You can make your bathroom renovation project go a lot faster if you order and have all the items that are required to carry out the work before the contractors start. Equally important is agreeing to the price and all the important decisions such as the theme and colour scheme of your bathroom.
If you’re able to it might be best to go and stay with relatives during the period of the renovation. If this is not possible you can make arrangements with your neighbours to use their bathroom while yours is unavailable.
